Community Engagement Opportunities

In fulfillment of the university's mission, "education for citizenship," Ohio State students have numerous opportunities to connect with communities, engage in various issues, and develop skills for active citizenship. Leadership and Community Engagement offers a variety of programs designed to help students engage at a local, national, and global level. This dashboard is designed to allow students connect with community partners around service opportunities across central Ohio.

Search for Service Opportunities

Students on the Columbus campus can utilize the Service Opportunities Dashboard to find community engagement opportunities around the Columbus community. 

Share a Service Opportunity

Community nonprofit organization across central Ohio can register their organization and share service opportunities for Ohio State students on the Columbus campus. Student organizations on the Columbus campus can also post opportunities for service that are open to all students. Community nonprofit organizations must hold 501(c)(3) status and student organizations mus have a Communtiy Service/Service Learning designation to be approved. Please see additional information below on how to create an account and share opportunities.

Community Nonprofit Account Creation and Opportunity Sharing

Account Creation:

  1. Go to Manage Org page - https://lead.osu.edu/service-opportunities/manageorg/
  2. Login with your Email Address
    • Click New User? Signup for an Account
    • Complete Account Information and Register
  3. Email Verification
    • Click Verify Email Address link
    • Click Verify Button to Login to newly created account
  4. Return to Manage Org page - https://lead.osu.edu/service-opportunities/manageorg/
  5. Select Register Your Organization
    • Edit information and click submit
  6. Submit documentation fo 501(c)(3) status to sl-communityengagement@osu.edu
  7. An email will be sent to the organiztions contact email once the organization has been approved

Opportunity Sharing

  1. Go to Manage Org page - https://lead.osu.edu/service-opportunities/manageorg/
  2. Login with your Ohio State Name.#
    • Only approved organizations will generate
  3. Choose Your Organization - if managing more than one organization
    • Click Manage
  4. Select Manage Opportunities
    • Click Manage Opportunities at the top of the page
    • Edit information and click submit
  5. Click Create New Opportunity
    • Edit information and click submit
  6. New opportunities are posted weekly
Student Organization Account Creation and Opportunity Sharing

Account Creation

  1. Go to Manage Org page - https://lead.osu.edu/service-opportunities/manageorg/
  2. Login with your Ohio State Name.#
    • Only registered organizations advisors and leaders can create organization accounts
  3. Select Your Organization
    • Click Add to Service Opportunities
    • Edit information and click submit
  4. Return to Manage Org page - https://lead.osu.edu/service-opportunities/manageorg/
  5. Only student organizations with a Communtiy Service/Service Learning type designation will be approved
  6. An email will be sent to the organizations contact email once it has been approved
