In fulfillment of the university's mission, "education for citizenship," Ohio State students have numerous opportunities to connect with communities, engage in social justice issues, and develop skills for active citizenship. Leadership & Community Engagement offers a variety of programs designed to help students engage at a local, national, and global level.

2023-2024 Leadership and Community Engagement Cohort Recruitment

The Office of Student Life is seeking applicants for the Pay It Forward and Buck-I-SERV Board Student Cohorts. Pay It Forward and Buck-I-SERV are two of Student Life’s student-led service-learning programs. Pay It Forward focuses on local, Columbus-based service initiatives including single days of service, Battle Against Hunger, and local service trips. Buck-I-SERV is Ohio State’s alternative breaks program, which offers week-long domestic and international service trips during the university’s academic breaks. Both cohorts offer hands-on experience planning and promoting meaningful service opportunities for Ohio State students. Apply for a Student Life cohort today to develop as a leader, build meaningful relationships with peers who are committed to giving back to our community, and to leave an impact on The Ohio State University.
