Student Leadership Advocate
Student Leadership Advocates (SLA) is a staff of certified peer leadership educators supported by the Office of Student Life's Department of Leadership & Community Engagement.
The mission of SLA is to make leadership education more accessible to and inclusive of everyone at The Ohio State University, with this position focused primarily on the delivery of leadership, personal, and professional development content to our student body.
SLAs take part in multiple years of experiential leadership education and training, while also providing groups and organizations with facilitation services catered to their needs and goals. After becoming a certified SLA facilitator, you will be qualified to lead any of the several workshops we offer which impact over 3,000 students per year.
Day-to-day responsibilities of SLAs include active and continuous participation in certification, training, and professional development opportunities, frequent workshop and dialogue facilitation for the LEAD Series and organizations/groups by request, as well as administrative tasks such as assisting with the workshop scheduling, consultation, and revision processes.
