Battle Against Hunger

The Battle Against Hunger is a month-long program during November aimed at bringing awareness to issues surrounding food insecurity through food drives, service, and educational events. You can get involved by hosting a food drive during November and sharing your results with Pay It Forward, or by participating in one of our events throughout the month.

Food Insecurity Educational Sessions

Session 1: Food Insecurity in Columbus: Community Strategies to Make an Impact

Join Pay It Forward to learn from local experts about food insecurity in Columbus and how you can make an impact! 

Session 2: What is Food Insecurity?

In this session we will discuss what food insecurity is and how it impacts those in our world, country, state, and campus community!

Session 3: Health Impacts & Disparities of Food Insecurity

Save the date for our final educational event for Battle Against Hunger 2022! In this session, we will discuss how food insecurity impacts the health of the community. 

Food Drives

With the COVID-19 pandemic, more families and individuals are struggling with food security and access to healthy options. You can help us fight food insecurity on our campus and in our community by donating non-perishable food items and personal care items including:

  • Canned Beans
  • Canned Vegetables
  • Tuna
  • Oatmeal
  • Spices and Seasonings
  • Cereal
  • Snack Foods
  • Canned Fruits
  • Diced Tomatoes
  • Personal Care Items of all types
