Leadership Certificates
Leadership and Community Engagement sponsors 6-week non-credit bearing certificates to dive deeper into your leadership skills and your identity as a leader. Students can participate in a certificate every semester on one of several topics including: wellness, career development, community engagement. Certificates are open to students of any major and any class standing, including graduate and professional students. All certificate programs are free and in-person.
Buckeye Wellness Leadership Certificate - Spring 2025 Application Closed
Interested in building leadership skills and incorporating the ten dimensions of wellness into your personal leadership style? Leadership and Community Engagement is recruiting students for the Buckeye Wellness Leadership Certificate this Spring! This is a 6-week, non-credit bearing, cohort-based certificate program with weekly 90-minute sessions beginning the week of January 27 and running through the week of March 3. Applicants will be able to select from sessions being offered Mondays from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., or Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The certificate is open to all Columbus campus students including undergraduate, graduate, and professional. All students who complete the program will receive the Buckeye Wellness Leadership Certificate.
The application for the Buckeye Wellness Leadership Certificate are currently CLOSED. Applications for Spring 2026 will open sometime in late Autumn 2025.

Leadership for Career Success Certificate
This 6-week, non-credit bearing certificate explores the intersection between leadership and career development, will help you build leadership skills for the future, and assist in your career goal planning. Throughout the course, participants explore opportunities for self-improvement through career-readiness competentices developed by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) including: Career and Self-Development, Communication, Critical Thinking, Professionalism, and Teamwork. Participants will also utilize the Office of Student's Life's views on leadership, which are rooted in the Social Change Model of Leadership, as they work to further develop leadership skills that will benefit them in life and as members of the workforce.
This certificate is open to all students and no previous experience in formal leadership roles is required. Sessions are 90 minutes, and held once a week. All students who complete the program will receive the Leadership for Career Success Certificate. Application for the Leadership for Career Sucess Certificate are currently CLOSED. Applications for Fall 2025 will open in late Spring 2025.
