Local Service Trips
Throughout the year, Pay It Forward provides smaller scale local service opportunities. Pay It Forward provides transportation to and from service sites, so there is no need for students to find their own. We offer a wide variety of service trips focusing on various community needs to allow students to gain new experiences and match students to opportunities that they are genuinely passionate about.
Spring 2026 Service Events:
Ohio History Connection
Saturday, February 28, 5-9 p.m.
What is Night at the Museum? This event is loosely based on the movie series, Night at the Museum. The premise of the movie is that because of the presence of a magical tablet all the exhibits in the museum come to life during the night. We are basing our event upon this concept - during this evening our exhibits have to come to life. We will have first person interpreters portray characters that have stepped out of our exhibits. They will interact with visitors and other characters - the idea is to mix up the time periods and draw our visitors into the conversations. Other components of the event include hands-on activities and crafts. Arrival Time The event opens to OHC members at 6 pm and to the general public at 7 p.m. We would like to have all the volunteers present at 5:15 p.m. for a brief pre-event meeting on the red carpet. We are looking for volunteers to help with hands-on crafts and greeting visitors to the event. We will have refreshments for you in our meeting room starting at 5 pm. We need to have everyone at their starting place at 5:30 p.m. The event ends at 9:00p.m.
