The Main Menu Project

  • Title: Student Organization Excellence in Relationships

The Main Menu Project is dedicated to increasing accessibility in the Columbus community for individuals who are visually impaired. They collaborate with local restaurants to develop screen-reader friendly menus, create QR codes and NFC tags that access each menu and work with their partners to effectively implement the product in their restaurants. They work to enhance the well-being and promote social justice of low-vision individuals. Members also volunteer at local conferences, such as the American Council of the Blind, and work to strengthen member recruitment and retention by integrating social events and team building into their regular meetings. Overall, The Main Menu Project is dedicated to the creation of powerful, inexpensive and adaptive technologies that increase independence in everyday situations for low-vision individuals.
