Dr. Sultana Nahar, a Research Professor in the Department of Astronomy, is a dedicated physicist who goes above and beyond the call of duty in her service to students, including by advising the International Society of Muslim Women in Science here at Ohio State. As an advisor, Dr. Nahar is always available and proactive, ensuring that events are well-organized, and students have the guidance they need to grow as leaders. From advising on program logistics to personally funding gaps in resources, Dr. Nahar’s commitment is unwavering. She helps to connect students to meaningful opportunities for networking and mentorship. Dr. Nahar actively promotes STEM engagement, advocating for students at OSU and beyond. Her leadership has been instrumental in sustaining and growing the organization, ensuring its long-term success.
