Redefining Athletic Standards (RAS) is a dynamic organization at The Ohio State University dedicated to empowering Black male student-athletes and fostering a sense of identity beyond sports. As an organization, RAS’ mission is rooted in a desire to dismantle traditional perceptions of athletes by advocating for holistic development and fostering connections across diverse athletic teams. The organization also prioritizes empowerment, community and social enrichment through intentional programming designed to support mental well-being, personal development and leadership skills. By offering opportunities for networking and open-minded exploration, RAS creates a space where student-athletes can learn about their own strengths, build confidence and foster meaningful connections.
