From nearby Powell, Ohio, Joshua Ghosh-Groen is a senior Public Health major and winner of multiple awards this year. Joshua blends his academic interests with his passion for justice and community building through his involvements, including his roles as President of Mentors Outlining Resourceful Education (MORE), Co-Outreach Lead for Unchained, and Student Ambassador in the College of Public Health. As President of MORE, Joshua leads the organization in fostering mentorship and community-building opportunities for students. Beyond MORE, Joshua engages with Ohio State’s anti-human trafficking organizations, Unchained and Enlighten, advocating for human rights and helping to advance the organizations in creative ways. As a student ambassador for his college, Joshua saw the need for and created the innovative “Take Your Teacher to Lunch” program, which fosters meaningful conversation between students and faculty. After graduation, Joshua intends to pursue a law degree to continue his work at the intersection of public health, human rights and policy.
