Anitra Karthic, a medical student and the President of the Anesthesiology Community of Practice Interest Group, has redefined leadership within the AUCOP organization. Under Anitra’s guidance, AUCOP has expanded its ultrasound education initiatives, increasing the number of hands-on workshops and inviting prominent guest speakers to campus. Anitra’s leadership has helped the organization strengthen its ties with Nationwide Children’s Hospital, providing students with mentorship and professional growth opportunities. Beyond the academic opportunities she has facilitated, Anitra has fostered a collaborative environment by consistently supporting members and emphasizing team building, establishing AUCOP’s first mentorship program. Anitra’s dedication extends beyond OSU, as she has advanced the organization by submitting abstracts to professional societies to share AUCOP’s model and mission with other institutions.
