Description

Showroom volunteers help welcome our families into the Furniture Bank, help them choose furniture, and record the choices for our drivers. Our families come with a case worker who is already familiar with the process, and staff are always on hand, so volunteers are never alone. And of course we train our volunteers on the process! We need volunteers Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday mornings. An ongoing commitment throughout the schoolyear is preferred. Taking breaks for holidays and schoolwork is welcomed! (We do also serve families in the summer if you are local to the area.)

Furniture Bank of Central Ohio

There are resources to help families become rehoused, but those homes are empty of furnishings. The Furniture Bank helps turn these empty houses into homes. The Furniture Bank can serve up to 4,000 families a year—that’s more than 10,000 people, almost half of which are children. Each family receives 10-20 pieces of furniture based on need, which they select themselves at our one-stop-shop warehouse and it is delivered to them the same day. We work with about 75 community partners—other nonprofits and faith-based organizations—to serve families.
