Miranda Freedman

  • Title: Outstanding Student Organization Emerging Leader

Miranda Freedman is a junior fencer from Detroit studying Psychology. After joining Buckeye Spectrum in the Summer of 2022, Miranda has shown values and purpose that align with the organization. In attending the very first Athlete Ally Symposium in Miami, Florida as a representative of The Ohio State University, she embodied Buckeye excellence. She was able to advocate and communicate on behalf of the LGBTQIA+ identities on campus and within the Big Ten. She attended the symposium a second time this summer in Seattle Washington, as a rep for Buckeye Spectrum and for the Queer Student-Athlete Coalition (QSAC). Miranda has had a tremendous impact at the campus, and now conference, levels which allow the impact of Buckeye Spectrum to expand nationwide.
