Mihir Joshi

  • Title: Outstanding Senior Award

Mihir Joshi is a senior Biomedical Engineering major who has been involved both at OSU through the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) and nationally as a Biomedical R&D Intern at Apple and a Digital Health Researcher at Stanford University. Working to close gaps in student exposure to clinical engineering, Mihir has made the best of his 4 years in BMES, and as current co-president has worked to create hands-on, real world, opportunities for the members of his organization. This work has shaped his leadership style—teaching him the importance of adaptability, mentorship and creating systems that empower others to make an impact. Seeking his own hands-on experience, Mihir took a gap year to work at Apple, contributing to the development of the Apple Watch Series 10, navigating complex technical challenges while maintaining rigorous scientific standards. This life-saving work fundamentally transformed his understanding of how technological innovation can create meaningful change in people’s lives. Mihir aims to pursue a Ph.D. in Bioengineering with a focus on developing AI-driven tools for early disease detection and continuous patient monitoring, and he hopes to advance the field of health technology to contribute to the future of personalized medicine.
