Karissa Libson

A medical student from Austin, Texas, Karissa Libson has made her mark on the community through her work with the Columbus Free Clinic (CFC). As the Operations Coordinator, Clinic Manager, and a member of the Steering Committee for the CFC, Karissa has consistently demonstrated a high level of professionalism, empathy, and a genuine passion for providing healthcare to the under resourced. Her contributions to the CFC and patient care will be long-lasting, including updating and compiling CFC policies into one document to ensure continuity of care. She serves as a mentor, offering guidance and support to medical students in their studies and exam preparation. She volunteers with the OSU Department of Dermatology Outreach program, providing dermatologic care to underserved populations at free clinics and skin cancer screening events. Karissa has authored resolutions for the American Medical Association and volunteered with organizations like Resilience and the Holland Free Health Clinic, showcasing her dedication to supporting vulnerable populations and advocating for their well-being.
