Joshua Ghosh-Groen

  • Title: Kaplan Humanitarian Award; Community Engaged Leader

Joshua Ghosh-Groen is a junior studying Public Health who has gotten involved with many student organizations, most notably as President of the Minority Organization Representing Excellence (MORE), which he joined his freshman year. Under his leadership, MORE partnered with the College of Arts and Sciences Center for Career and Professional Success as the student organization partner for the Diversity Case Study Competition, which gave him the opportunity to live out the intercultural mission of the organization and build his own leadership skills. He also created a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that spreads awareness of the human trafficking crisis through distributing keychains with the National Human Trafficking Hotline’s phone number in highly concentrated areas.  Joshua plans to apply his commitment to public health and justice by pursuing his interdisciplinary joint JD/MPH degrees and directly advocate for human rights in public health, law, and policy.
