Declan Farrell

  • Title: Outstanding Green Buckeye Award

Declan Farrell, a Dublin native pursuing his Master of Social Work degree, is dedicated to advancing sustainability and community engagement. As Vice President of the American Conservation Coalition, Declan led a uniform campus recycling initiative aimed at diverting 90% of waste from landfills, collaborating with Rumpke to improve accessibility to and education about the project. He has also participated in community cleanups, modeling for his peers the power of collective action. Declan has gained experience drafting grant applications and has learned the importance of planning and communication. He had the opportunity to engage more deeply in the political side of climate advocacy, and it strengthened his understanding of environmental reform. These experiences have shaped his leadership, strengthened his commitment to service and prepared him to drive meaningful, lasting impact on Ohio State’s campus and well beyond.
