Amelea Sese

• Title: Student Organization Outstanding Positional Leader Award

Amelea Sese is a senior Food Science major from Avon, Ohio, who has had a tremendous impact on the Pilipino Student Association by serving in numerous leadership roles, including as Cultural Night Coordinator, Cultural Chair and Vice President of External Affairs. Amelea directed the organization’s largest annual event, Barrio, which is a celebration of Filipino culture featuring performances, food and a telenovela. Under Amelea’s leadership, Barrio had record-breaking attendance, selling over 400 tickets and raising $2,000 for the Filipino child welfare program Bantay Bata 163. Amelea has also captained multiple traditional dance teams, choreographing performances and mentoring members while celebrating and amplifying Filipino culture. Amelea’s leadership has ensured the sustainability and growth of the Pilipino Student Association.
