Alexander Abreo

A neuroscience major from Dublin, Ohio, Alexander Abreo has committed himself to becoming a healthcare advocate and leader. As the Founder and Co-President of BREACH (Buckeyes Racial/ethnic Equity Centered In Healthcare), the President of Buckeye Shadowing club, an Ambassador for the Neuroscience program, and an undergraduate research assistant in the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, Alexander is committed to addressing health equity, particularly at the intersection of race, ethnicity, and gender. After gaining a $4,000 grant through ODI to found BREACH, Alexander used the organization to start a podcast that now has garnered thousands of listeners across 15+ states in the U.S, hosting experts on access to reproductive healthcare, LGBTQIA+ needs in primary care, access to medical education for underrepresented populations, and more. He has also pursued his professional goals as a leader and now president of Buckeye Shadowing club, where he helps connect over 200 members to medical shadowing experiences.
