Alex Sommer

Originally from Oxford, Ohio, Alex Sommer is pursuing her EdD in Higher Education and Student Affairs and is a compassionate leader who has advocated for and uplifted her fellow Buckeyes, particularly within the Buckeye Inclusion Committee and the Big Ten Equality Coalition. Alex is celebrated by her peers for the pivotal role she played in creating spaces where both athletes and staff can come together to celebrate and advocate for LGBTQ+ people, making a lasting impact on Ohio State’s athletic community. As a leader, Alex is passionate about experiential learning and facilitating personal and community reflection, and she is skilled in her ability to turn challenging circumstances into meaningful opportunities for growth and learning. Alex will continue to be an advocate and an inspiration to her peers long after she graduates.
