All Events - Leadership Week 2023

 Are you ready to learn and grow as a leader? Leadership Week is a university-wide celebration of leadership development. All sessions are open to all students – undergraduate, graduate, and professional students, from all of our campuses, but target audiences have been specified. All sessions fit into one or more of the five themes of Leadership Week: Career Development, Community Engagement, Inclusion, Personal Exploration, and Wellness. Sessions will also be available for First Year Success Series (FYSS) and Second-Year Transformational Experience Program (STEP) credit. Defining & Living Your Personal Leadership Philosophy

  • Every leader at every level of experience and skill has room for growth, but the thought of setting and achieving leadership goals may leave you wondering where to begin. During this session, individuals will immerse themselves in the process of identifying their values, beliefs, principles, and priorities. Through intensive self-reflection, individuals will be guided to write and utilize a personal leadership philosophy as a foundational tool to achieve personal growth while cultivating a sense of self.

USG Presents: Canary Screening

  • 5 p.m. - 8:15 p.m., Wexner Center for the Arts
  • Join us for a viewing of the documentary, "Canary", reflecting on OSU Professor Lonnie Thompson's challenges of scientific discovery and exploration. Within the Byrd Polar Climate Research Center, his team has developed new technologies that have advanced our understanding of the Earth's climate system. Food is provided and admission is free!

  • You know yourself, but how well do you really know yourself? Developing a strong sense of self-awareness not only helps you improve your own performance; It can give you confidence in your abilities as a leader and help you identify areas for growth. Join Fisher Leadership Initiative (FLI) for an interactive workshop that dives into the four dimensions of self-awareness while helping you identify hidden strengths, weaknesses, and values.

Humble Bragging: How to Leverage Your Involvement on Your Resume

  •   Student Organizations and other types of on-campus involvement are great experiences to include on your resume to stand-out to employers and highlight transferable skills! At this workshop you will learn when and how to include different types of involvement on your resume, and practice adding or updating your own experiences to your resume. This workshop will specifically focus on including Student Organization involvement to resumes but is open to anyone who is interested in workshopping their resume.

Community Engaged Leadership - Buck-I-SERV Community Partner Panel

  • Community partnerships are central to the Buck-I-SERV Program, and this virtual panel is an opportunity to meet and learn from several of Buck-I-SERV's longstanding community partners. In addition to hosting students for week-long alternative break trips throughout the year, Buck-I-SERV's community partners are leaders and advocates in their communities. Check out this session to learn about Buck-I-SERV's community partners including what leadership and service mean to them, as well as how OSU students can get involved with and support them!
