What to expect

  • Participants will partner with the Medici Project and CTG Foundation to support initiatives aimed at providing access to clean water and education.
  • The CTG Foundation is committed to helping communities break the cycle of generational poverty by taking a holistic, relational, and long-term approach, and it all starts with access to clean water.
  • The CTG Foundation provides safe drinking water by digging deep water wells on community property secured legally with the local government. This improves community health although families still need to walk to the water source and carry their water back to their home. CTG Foundation also distributes safe drinking water to individual homes by building a reservoir and piping system connected to a previously dug well. This improves access to clean water as it is piped directly to their home location versus them needing to carry heavy containers to their homes.
  • In addition to clean water access initiatives, CTG coordinates additional community-based projects on a case-by-case basis such as hygiene workshops, women’s health classes, emergency food distribution, community garden resources, sustainable farming education, renovation projects for local school buildings, supporting after-school programs, organizing sports programs and more.
  • Please note: A valid passport is necessary at time of application for this INTERNATIONAL trip. Passports must have expiration date of at least 6 months after the return date of the trip (ex: September 2024).
