Jaleea Gamble

• Title: Outstanding First-Year Student Award

First-year Jaleea Gamble, from nearby Reynoldsburg, Ohio, is a Stamps Eminence Scholar at Ohio State studying Animal Sciences and leading her peers through her dedication to service and academic excellence. Through the Zoology Club, Jaleea has connected with leaders in animal care and gained hands-on experience to support future career aspirations. As an undergraduate researcher in the College of Veterinary Medicine, Jaleea has built upon knowledge she gained as a high school student conducting microbiome-focused research. Through her work with the Stamps Eminence Scholarship program, Jaleea helped create an Ohio State extension of the National Alliance on Mental Health, providing resources that are easily accessible to both students and the broader Columbus community. Jaleea has learned that success does not happen overnight, and she plans to remain focused and patient while pursuing even more leadership and research opportunities during her remaining years as a Buckeye.
