• Title: Outstanding Green Buckeye

A Natural Resource Management major from Columbus, Mya Garrison has used her work inside and outside the classroom to make her mark in the environmental landscape of Ohio State. As the president of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated, Theta Chapter she has facilitated various programs aligning with the sorority’s goal of “Enhancing our Environment” and helping Black women feel more at home in environmental spaces that often exclude them. As a board member for Time for Change, she helped execute Environment Week 2023, which promotes sustainable behaviors and offers students a unique perspective on the interconnectedness of nature with various university departments and student organizations. Her work has culminated in being inducted into the Towers Agricultural Honorary, and she plans to continue her environmental work after graduation.
